Hi all,
I will visit London in the month of May. Does anybody know about good London Guitar shops which have, of course, a lot of Ricks and reasonable prices ?
Thanks for helping !!
Peter

If you find such a shop, you might let the Brits know about it, because they've been looking for the same thing.

I was in London last year including Denmark Street and the amount of Rics for sale were incredibly dissappointing. It may have been more but I only remember seeing two Rics (360 FG and MG). Peter Cooks is suppossed to be good but I don't know how far from the centre of London that is. (Station Road Hanwell)

I was in Wujos in Denmark St only yesterday and they had a few - 620s, 330s,360s, 4004s... I was also disappointed to see some "Rockinbetters" in a couple of stores

Wunjo Guitar actually, a great shop. Brian, the owner is a RIC fan.
Rockinbetter's are now off the wholesale market in the U.K. and most smart stores are now taking these off the shelves. Retail sales and resales are more difficult to monitor but action will be taken when noted or reported. Border crossings or cross border sales of these knock-offs will now be quite an event for those that own these!

Go to Chandler Guitars in Kew on Sandycombe Road. Walk out the front of Kew Station to Sandycombe, turn left and there it is. They had 7-8 new and used RICs when I was there in February. Al, the manager, is a RIC fan. Tell him Steve sent you.

I went to Denmark St and Charing Cross Rd on Saturday.
It was busy but I spotted a few Ricks in Macaris on Charing Cross Rd.
There was a C64 Jetglo in Vintage and Rare Denmark St. but as it was Saturday it was too busy for
guitar shop browsing and I was actually on my way to check out some old buses at the Transport museum Covent Garden.
(Ive been driving buses and coaches since 1974...I am waiting for Leyland to reissue the 1963 PD2 double decker!)
Just to prove I am still rock n roll we had a late ticket for the David Bowie Is exhibition at the V+A which was
a fantastic show and highly recommended.
Er, one Rick in that show folks..Trevor Boulder on the big screen with his 4001 JG circa 73.
Book a ticket for you May visit and you wont be disappointed.

I agree with John. Brian is a good bloke, I still have my 330 blue boy from him, excellent friendly service.

Not that hard if they're in the window, at the side of the shop coming from Denmark Str. - as for reasonable... I've had mine 2nd hand in almost as good as new for a whole lot less.
Still, will check out Chandler when I'm in London next time! I will tell them Clean Steve send me...

Go 200 miles North and try Forsyths on Deansgate Manchester.

Macaris' is worth a short visit, not only because it has occasional RICs, but it is where the Who or Pete Townsend had a charge account there and he would buy replacement guitars for the ones he was smashing up early in their career. It is really small, but probably a good feel for how guitar shops were in the 60s. Go to Leicester Square Station, go out the Charing Cross exit, turn right, cross Shaftesbury Avenue and it is across the road. Denmark Street is the next road on the corner where Foyles Bookstore is. I found RICS to be a bit of a hit and miss on Denmark Street. Sometimes 5 or 6, sometimes none, but certainly worth a visit. There was a vintage shop there there that always had one or two older RICs. The Cambridge Arms across from Marcaris' was a good, English place with good food.
