Interesting issue with GC 1302

I found some more old eBay printouts, and one was for a "1967 Reckenbacker( 4005)Jetglo,,Rare" (verbatim 
). The serial number given in the ad was GC 1302. When I searched for this SN in the register, it is there, but as a Mapleglo, "refinished to Burgundy".
The ad text goes on to say that the bass was "100% original". So this is another instrument with an anomalous history.
