I'd have a hard time choosing just one because there are so many but I'll go with the studio version of "Silly Love Songs." It may not be cool to love that song, but I do, and I love the tone and playing of that bass.

Don't know for sure, but "let me roll it" sounds like the Ric,to me. One of my favorite Macca songs....

We do that one, and segue into Band On The Run.

I may have made the question too hard. So pick a Beatle and solo moment.
The bass on With a Little Help from My Friends kills me every time.

Macca's bass work on "All You Need Is Love" is pretty special!
"Let Me Roll It" is great. I always thought that was Macca trying to play a "John" song.

The little riff at the start of 'Penny Lane.'

From what hasn't been mentioned:
"Hey Bulldog", "I'm Only Sleeping", "Paperback Writer", "Getting Better", "Baby You're A Rich Man", as well as the aforementioned "With a Little Help", Let Me Roll It", "Band On The Run" and "Silly Love Songs"

That's a good one. That whole Sgt. Pepper / Magical Mystery Tour era is just a golden era of McCartney's bass playing.
Question. Did McCartney play the Ric or the Jazz Bass on "Something"?

That's a good one for me too. Maybe it is because it sounds like a "John song."
JPS, that's a good two-fer in your set.
I've got a Melvins album with their version of it. Melvins covers are always interesting, but this one they just rocked out. The bassist on it (Trey Gunn) was using an upright when they toured it recently.

I hate to do this, but I think it's a Fender Jazz Bass on the Band On The Run album.

According to the BOTR poster, they were using a Jazz Bass, but those were the Lagos sessions. Only a few snaps from the London sessions for the album, and those are Macca on a keyboard. So that Ric may be showing up on the album as well.

Did he use the Ric on "Rain" as well. That's some serious bass going on there.

My top two would be "Another Day" (sounds like the Ric) and "Hey Bulldog." All of Sgt Peppers.
