I have some ideas in mind for using the Ric-O-Sound and I have noticed that there are no old boxes around and Pick of the Ricks has a cable that is out of stock....Who uses theirs?? the jack on the bass that is..

I do, although I don't always want to lug the second rig along. There are many different stereo cables out there for around $40 or less. You don't need a splitter box. Just run the stereo cable - I connect the two split cables to different effects which makes it easier to have a shorter split cable, which is nice because it can get in the way. The thing is, I prefer my effects on the bridge pickup, so I'll often use a phaser pedal on the neck pickup and just not turn it on.

I run the bridge PU to a GK 700RB-II w/ a Neo 2x12 and the neck PU to a MB Little Mark 250 w/ a 1x12.

I'm a guitar player, does that count? I use the Rick-O-Sound option whenever we're playing on a stage that has enough room for both my amps and the other band members' gear. I was given a Rick-O-Sound box for my birthday by a forum member. Previously I just used a stereo splitter cable. As far as effects go, I run a Jangle Box and a chorus pedal through the neck pickup, another Jangle Box and a phaser through the bridge pickup.

Sure does, as we all know that a guitar is really just a 6 string piccolo bass, anyway.

You need to add a pair of these, CJ.

Or trade all that stuff in for one of these which should be able to handle all your instruments and those of your neighbors from a couple hundred miles around.

Cj, is that the instrument cluster out of an FA18 fighter jet?? Good God man, how on earth do you remember what knobs do what?? My amp has 5 knobs on it!!

If I want to annoy the neighbors, I just fire up the power amp. It's only 750 watts/channel though, so it only annoys the close (in Montana terms) neighbors...

Probably good for shaking the snow off the roof during those chilly Montana winters also. . . .

It's actually not that hard. The SansAmps are basically normal preamps, one for each pickup. The rest are all stereo units, so everything is duplicated, which makes 'em look more complicated than they are.

The Rane DC-24 is a nice compressor/limiter and once set up really doesn't ever get messed with. Same for the Rane AC22B, it's an active crossover that sends the high freqs to 12 inch speakers, lows to 15s, and really never needs to be changed.

The tough one is actually the Lexicon MX-200. I mostly use that for a bit of reverb and sometimes some octave effect. It does way more and has so many routing options that I really haven't figured out how to run it yet...

Yep... Mine too! Setup is simple.

Rick-------> cord ---------> Orange thingie

Though when I will be brave I may use the ROS and run both the Orange thingie and the Eden thingie.

All my Ricks (and others) are mono output basses,so I don't get to do that,but i do have an ART Phat Boy Multi-EFX pedal that has stereo sends. Every once in a blue moon,i hook up a 2nd amp just to hear the spread it gives to digital delay type efx,and its really nice. What's also cool is i can run one amp clean,and put my VT pedal on the 2nd send for some grit. I have yet to try this in a live setting,with a full band.

I guess I should mention that I like Rick-O-Sound so much that even my 4004Cii has it now. I've got a couple of Rick console steels from the late '50s that don't have Rick-O Sound, but everything else does...
