If Joe Osborn had played a Rick instead of that dumb Jazz...

It might have sounded something like this!

(Me playing one of his many great basslines on my 4001C64, TI flats, neck pickup, Yorkville combo amp, light compression on the send/return loop on the amp just to get that click sound with the pick).

Uh, Jazz ain't dumb, and I play it on my 4001FL & 4003FL basses...WAY more complex lines than that "other" stuff  Nice playing you did on it, though. :)

Great job! I do like it better than the Jazz bass.

Beautiful tone, watched your "you never give me your money" video too (love that bassline!)
I really like those yorkville combo amps, too.

Ummm,4005player,you realize he meant JAZZ bass,as in Fender, not the genre of Jazz music, right? The bass that Joe Osborn is famous for playing?

I haven't heard that one in years, yeah, it is a great bass line. I'm gonna have to play along and learn that one...

"...dumb jazz "bass" is what the poster intended, I believe. That's how I understood it. I'd say his playing (by the way, nice job dude, I dig that tone, too) implies he is pro-jazz, y'know, the way more complex stuff.

Because complex = inherently better.

C'mon. I like Jazz but music should not be judged simply for its complexity.

"played a Rick instead of that dumb Jazz" - "instead" implies a comparison - Jazz is capitalized - Fender Jazz Bass.

Not that hard to understand...

Right, I meant the Fender Jazz -- nothing against Jazz music! (I only wish I were good enough to play it).

Sounds good, but jeez, Joe Osborn's tone (and playing) is super important to me...I wouldn't call anything about it "dumb".

I know, it was just a joke... I'm sure any bass player would drool over owning one of those 60's Jazz basses.

The AV '62 Jazz Bass I used to own sounded great with TI Jazz Flats on it. 8) Too bad the neck would never flatten out and the truss rod max'd out in no time at all.
