New Rick day today

I received this beauty today, a 4001 Jetglo from 1973. That was a nice soothing moment after a rather rough week at work. I purchased this from a very nice forum member.
I fell out of my chair when I plugged it. Such a perfect Rickenbacker growl.

Early 70ies, to me, was the golden era of the Rickenbacker basses. I just love them.
The neck toaster closer to the fingerboard was the way to go as far as my own preference is concerned.

Yes, these Spring '73 4001s are great sounding and playing basses, I love my Mapleglo MCxxx bass.
Congrats, Jeff, I am sure it made your day!

Nice schtuff, Colonel!!!
I am totally diggin' your growing collection. The Stones may have been sucking in the Seventies, but 4001's sure as heck weren't.
MD1xxx -- Dr. JetGlo perhaps . . . ?

I would like to but the 64 is with Larry Davis and the 68 and the 72 Fireglo are with Paul W.
The herd will be culled back to the pre 74 basses only so I will scale back to 6 (plus a 4005 at some point).
Nothing against the post-73 basses. I just lack the space in my rather smallish townhouse. As my daughter is growing bigger, I have less available space for basses. We sadly lost control of the "daughter footprint"...

I wish I would find one in Western Australia I will tell you!!! I have some ideas to add some space.
All the good tradesmen are working in the mines because of the insane wages they are paid compared to the residential sector.
As a result, the tradesmen that will go to your house were scrapped from the bottom of the barrel... And that is if they even give you the honour of showing up!

Pay them miner's wages and maybe the good ones will come back. Of course, you better plan on staying in that house for a long time.
