After watching it all the way through, and seeing the comments from viewers, it appears Paul didn't record any more installments(?). Hmm. Would have been neat to follow up on the project.

I saw this some time ago. Great to see, but there are a few inaccuracies in Paul's description that I can clarify and correct, given that I am a little bit familiar with this particular bass.

I watched that last week too, I wonder what happened to it? Probably not good considering there was no follow up.

The current owner sent me a couple of photos of the finished product. It looks new again.
I have to say I am a bit disappointed that PW did not do his usual great photos/description postings of the progress.

That may have been around the time when Paul was having a family crisis? Didn't he lose his mother-in-law or someone?

Other than the replacing the Hipshot Ultralights with original Kluson (non Schaller) tuners, I would have left it alone. It seemed to have survived pretty well as a working instrument for 40+ years. Now a doctor buys it and has to have the ORIGINAL binding, finish, plating and maybe even the inlays replaced. So into a glass case it will go in his office or living room. The saying in vintage circles is "It's only original once", and that has value even if the good doctor doesn't think so.

Aceonbaass, I totally agree. That was my thoughts exactly.
Bassically, Michael
