Hi guys Took delivery of a new 4003 jetglo today there is a weird line or material under the bridge it looks awful !!! anyone any idea what it is?? bass is going back 3 dings!!! and the pickup surround has been installed squint not happy with quality control here.

Polishing compound that wasn't all removed???

no it isnt , i tried to remove with a cloth does not come off.

this bass came from rossetti to the retailer and was stored in the retailers warehouse??? dont understand how it received so much damage.

there is a huge score in the paintwork almost as if the bridge had been installed then taken off and re positioned and left this mark.

Hello George, I have the same problem with my 2012 "replacement" body/neck. My 2011 4003JG had cracking and flaking paint around the tailpiece. This cloudy clearcoat is only a small area.1/8" out from tailpiece in a semi-circle about the size of a pencil eraser.It appears something in the pigment or the clearcoat has reacted with the wood or the sealer.At least it has not cracked. "Yet"!. I would be willing to bet it came from the factory with the dings but the paint issue developed over time as mine has. Send it back! Regards, Roger.

Hmm, OK, it was a bit hard to tell from the photos...

no problem, i thought it would come off too, nope , its right in the finish of the paintwork.

119 pounds! ($US180) I'd be giving it to someone in that condition.

George, if you look at the Picture of the damaged RIC case on e-bay, it is the headstock end of the case that has the damage!.Therefore I would doubt that any damage to the body of your bass happened at that time. Roger.

Exactly the same thing happened to my Ric that also came from Rosetti. Paint sheared away at the bridge.

Sent it back to the shop.
