String buzz on new 360/12

Hi All,

Recently purchased my dream guitar...a brand new Fireglo 360/12. Obviously an amazing guitar but in the 30 days or so i have owned it a buzz has developed. What concerns me is its one string...the high G string, and one fret...the 2nd. Its become very obvious (and annoying!). Playing the string at all other frets does not produce the buzz. Only the 2nd fret (and imagine how much you play the g string at the 2nd fret).

I do maintenance on my other guitars but the 360/12 is pretty intimidating. Any suggestions on how to track down the issue and adjust? Has anyone ran into this situation?

Any information would be appreciated.

Hi Jon, nothing to be intimidated by a Rick, it's just a guitar (ducks for cover! ). 8) Having two truss rods actually makes it easier to make relief adjustments, but if it just buzzing at one location that fret may be a tad high so gently filing it down should take care of it for you.

Hey thanks for the fast reply Jeff.

Perhaps I should clarify...it only buzzes when I press the string at the 2nd fret. If I press the string (again this only happens with the octave G string, not the regular) at any other fret (or play it open) I do not hear the buzz. But when i press at 2nd fret the octave string buzzes on some fret on up the neck. So it would seem that perhaps its the 3rd fret that might be a bit high? I hate to adjust neck since other 11 strings seem fine.

Just file down that small area only on the one fret where the string buzzes against, and it shouldn't take much at all, hopefully. That should not affect any other string or fretting position. I first learned of doing this from Rick Turner many years ago. :)
