Nice! Thanks for posting. I love how he basically stays with the same groove, but changes his fills so it doesn't become boring.

Love it! There are so many cool isolated tracks available on YouTube now, I sometimes just sit there for hours and listen to them. I love Geddy's nasty tone. He's one of the main reasons I got a Ric :D

Edit: I'm trying to post a Youtube vid but it's not working! Arggg

Music to my earbuds! Thanks for posting. "Limelight" was one of the first basslines I ever learned (thank you Guitar For the Practicing Musician, back in the day), and I learned much from it.

One thing that unsettled me many years later though was finding out that Geddy, in le studio up to that point, wasn't on his Rick 100% of the time . . . note that on the Moving Pictures inner sleeve, he's depicted with his J-bass!

Do we know for certain that "Limelight" was recorded with him on his Rick, or was it with his J??

It sounds like his Ric. I hear that "Bowww" on the open string when you hit it hard followed by that metallic grindy crunch afterwards.
