Mission accomplished!

Thanks to John Hall getting me in touch with Chris Squire's tech, Richard Davis, who was kind enough to get me a pair of backstage passes to visit with Chris at this evening's Yes performance at Wisconsin State Fair. Bob Hathaway joined me for the mission and took photos. Pictured here are Jon Davison, lead singer now (nails Jon Anderson's parts, by the way), CS, and me looking through the book. Chris is checking out the foldout timeline/family tree graphic and seemed genuinely fascinated by all the different Ricks illustrated in the book. I brought three copies with me; gave one to Richard Davis before the show, a signed copy to Chris, and I had Chris sign my personal copy. Chris also signed Bob's book that he brought along. Jon wanted a copy, but I was all out! Turns out he plays bass and has a '74 Rick "it's got red dots on the side of the neck" -- he appears to be up on Ricks! Also got to re-meet Scotti, Chris' wife who's along on tour.
The concert was great! As you know they are doing three albums all the way through. They start with Close to the Edge, then do Going For the One, then wrap it up with the Yes Album. Encore was "Roundabout" -- of course! Steve Howe is still killer on guitar! And Chris' Rick still grinds!
What a great evening. Thanks again, John, Richard, and Bob for the photos!
