Missed out on the SnowGlos, and then along came this:
Thinking of going "None More White" with a white guard and TRC . . . or maybe I should leave it alone and correct.

Congrats!
How would you describe the sound? Don't think I've heard a 4000 in person.
I'd go with the white.

Since you can't change the binding, it won't be complete. That's like...
One issue on the ballot in San Francisco this year was an initiative on whether a subway station should be constructed inside the San Francisco International Airport or just outside the airport boundary. In April a local judge rejected a complaint about the poor taste of an ad the "inside" advocates created, which included the line "Taking [the train] almost into the airport is like not coming."

It's a 4000, unbound.

Luv it...
4000 basses are nice beasts. These are a bit like 4001 and Fender Precisions, you need at least one of each to be truly happy. The one you got will make you very happy!

Congrats-Very noice! Looks like the twin to my beloved '74. The set-neck design of these has it's own special aural magic, and the 3 piece neck is pretty much the perfect RIC dimensions for me. At first i thought it was lacking in bass (playing through a 150 watt 1-15 swr combo) ,but pushing it through my 2 12" 500w Markbass,it delivers everything i need, including thunderous bottom.i had flatwounds on it for several years, and loved the sound, but it's true nature as a razor sharp clankasaurus was brought out when i put on SS RW DR fatbeams.

Thanks guys!
It's getting restrung over the weekend. The two choices are: Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinky (which my tech recommends), or DR Hi-Beams. Both are roundwounds.
Any thoughts as to one over the other? And do I need to worry about string tension??
I play solely with a pick...

I've never tried the Slinkys,so i can't comment. I have 45-100 gauge DR Fatbeams on mine, and have used hibeams and other DR strings for decades,so i can recommend them in general.
