WB Option for 330/360 Models

I'm lucky enough to own a 360 WB and a 360 V64.

They are absolutely my favorite models - to me, they are the quintessential Rickenbacker.

Besides me (and Paul!), would anyone like to see the WB option brought back on a 330 body shape?

Meh, I'd rather see the 1997 pearl whites become a standard model.

So many other things I'd like to see come back/get added before the double binding. There's no shortage of used WB's floating around out there, that's for sure.

I was joking, by the way. But doesn't the rarity of WB's make them more exciting anyway?

Binding on the 330 would be cool, Dan. I guess we have seen the model 330 to be the workhorse that has its charm in its barebones look. Less is more so to speak.

Well, if Rich and I keep having bouts of Double Bound fever. . . .

I think a new double bound model would cost more than the used models available on the market-not that much less than a 381, IIRC, which means a model many will desire, but not so many people will pay for, hence RIC's decision to not build them. It would be cool to have one since a new WB would have the same cool evolutions that the other new models have; full width inlays, vintage profile headstock, adjustable polepiece hi gains, and being built from the lighter, more resonant wood that RIC's current supplier provides. I'd scratch up the $ to buy at least one, but I'm just one person; not sure how many other fans of the model would pony up.

Not going to happen, but you're still in luck if you want a 12 string, because the 360/12 C63 is available.

I'd actually like a Campbell-style model because I like the smaller body, full scale, two pickup layout, and the Gibson style neck; when I'm not playing a Rick, my other model of choice is a Gretsch Jet, and lately, a LP Junior as well, so a Rick with that kind of neck in a smaller body would make a great lead guitar. :)

Yeah, I'm in favor of the factory making more 8) Double Bounds... but in the bigger picture of things, and as others on this thread mentioned, there are probably other priorities in everybody's wish-list of things they would like to see made ....

You can count me in this camp as well. Although, i personally would lay out for a 24 fret 350 model with 2 pickups and WB for lead work. Bound headstock too. Something I don't believe he factory ever offered. I have seen and played versions done by both Paul W. and Larry D. And just loved them. I need to add a 360/12 WB or C63 and perhaps get my 350V63 done up, to go with the my Paul W. restomod 360WB .

Yeah, that's the ticket!

Bound headstock was an option in the 60s and 70s, but not ordered by many.
I've had two of my Ricks' headstocks bound. Might do more; easier to see the edges and keep them from banging into things. . . .

WHAT! AND RISK DILUTING THE VALUE OF MY 1981 360-12WB FG CKBD!

Seriously, I have always preferred binding on the front, where it can be seen. I'd love to see it again.

I was very lucky and was able to buy a 360V64 six-string in turquoise a few years ago. I love the models available in the original vintage series.

Many years ago I had a 360-12 FG WB. It was an absolutely stunning looking guitar, but it had the thinnest neck that I have ever played. I would love to find another FG-WB to add to my collection.
