Newbie from the UK in need of help!

Post by leonk »

Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone knows of any suppliers of rick flatwork to the uk.
Went down the route of looking at jazzmaster flatwork to cut down but shipping on one site was ridiculous for such a small amount.
I was wondering if anyone knew where I could locate some flatwork at a reasonable price, or failing that somewhere that I could get flatwork material and a bobbin template.
Many Thanks
Leon

Maybe someone would swap you a higain cover for a toaster cover. Or you could get them from Rosetti. It is possible to unwind a higain, and also to pull the poles out and install 1/4" alnico rod magnets.

No I didn't mean the top part. I meant the bobbin bit. I already have bought the toaster covers, however i'm interested in actually making the pickup part (the part you wind) and I need the actual bits of plasticy board material that you put the magnets through.

"Flatwork"? I've known that word for quite a few years really. The very first time I heard it, or should I say read it, was nearly thirty years back in Donald Brosnac's book, "Electronics For Musicians", in a section on old and modern Fender pickups.

I have that book. I guess it's been a while since I last looked through it, eh?
