just bought a Rickenbacker 4003 (year 2004) going through a Orange Tiny Terror 500watt, and Orange 600 Watt. (sounds awesome)
Got the following effects pedals:
Electro Harmonix Big Muff bass PI,
Boss BF3 Flanger,
Boss CH3 Chorus,
Digitech bass Xeries Synth Wah,
Dunlop Bass Wah,
Acer Tuner
was wondering if anyone can confirm it is not a fake, due to my own neurotic anxiety (caused by spending so much on it lol )
it looks fine, sounds fine, the supplier was trust worthy and the serial number checks out. its just the fact it doesn't say "standard" or "Rick 'o Sound" on the jack plate. Im assuming the writing has just warn off and this is common on ricks?
replies and reassurance will be appreciated lol.
Thanks!

That lettering is silk-screened on top of a plated steel or highly-polished stainless steel surface, and will wear off with time.

Good question: I am presently using Thomastik Infeld JF344 flats. They are very nice low tension strings as long as you like flat wounds. Also very long lasting. Very popular on this forum.

If you prefer roundwound strings the TI Jazz Rounds (JR344) are really low tension and feel great; the windings use smaller diameter wrap wire so they feel nice and smooth, and they last a very long time tone-wise. When brand new they do not have the typical ear-bleeding brightness of most roundwound strings but due to that they sound much more consistent over time.

My 4003 and the Circle K balanced 106 set have been a match made in heaven! They are also pretty popular here.
