...and anyone else who loves some good old Genesis. I have always loved this medley.

Yes, I saw Mr Pomeroy in action at Birmingham Symphony Hall back in May this year. Brilliant show/band.
I understand it's a 4003 but not one of the newer ones as the shark fins are upside down. I have seen him with a new 4003 though last year.
For some reason the bass didn't cut through the mix very well when I saw them, Steve's guitar wasn't quite loud enough either!
I think Lee is one of the few but well known guys who plays with the bass strung for right hand!

When I very first started learning bass I flipped a right hand bass over and went that way for several weeks.
I was persuaded to swap the strings over to true lefty and it was like starting all over. Glad I did though!

WOW!!!!! That was GREAT!!!!
Thanks Jeff. I have always wanted to see Steve's electric band--never have.
I did see him play acoustically and got a chance to talk with him though.
WHO is the bass player here???? I've never seen him before. He NAILS Mike Rutherford's tone......
AND, that double-neck looks like a Shergold.
Thanks Again Jeff!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not sure of his name but I am pretty sure he is Sébastien Lamothe, bassist for The Musical Box. Not too many lefty bassists that has Rutherford's parts down pat.
I first saw Hackett's band in the mid '90s (not counting Genesis, of course many times from April 1972 through the Summer of '77), and have seen him a couple times doing solo (Borders Books) and trio gigs with his brother, John, and Roger King (Kent Stage). He is very friendly and likes to talk with his fans/supporters.

Oh My.....I was going to ask if that bassist ever played with the tribute band "Musical Box"
I've seen them, they're fantastic. Saw their "Lamb Lies Down" show. I was particularly impressed by
the bass player and how he had Rutherford's sound/tone down to a T. AND he was a lefty.
NO Rickenbacker bass that show, but he did have 2 360's (1 Lefty 1 upside down Righty)
That's so funny!!!!!!

FYI, Rutherford was NOT a lefty! I had a hard time grasping that concept when I saw The Musical Box a few years ago.
BTW, that double neck must have been built for Sébastien as it is a copy of Mike's Shergold. I remember being disappointed with Mike when he showed up the first time with that bass and not the Dick Knight DN Rick!

Yes Jeff...I know Rutherford is NOT Lefty
And I too was disappointed when Mike switched from the Rick to the Shergold.

No. I've seen Genesis ONCE---Front row on the "And Then There Were Three" tour.
So....I've seen them once
Peter Gabriel--Solo
Steve Hackett--solo
Never saw Genesis with the original line-up
Trivia----When I saw Gabriel, it was the first time I ever saw a Chapman Stick. THAT was SO foreign to me.

Ever heard of the these guys?
I saw them in the early '80s at a club across the street from OSU; I have their first LP, maybe a second one too, my albums (remember them? ) are packed away. Anyway, I digress. I went to the University of Cincinnati in the mid '70s; I met Emmett Chapman and saw a prototype Chapman Stick at a music shop near campus, the shop was called Synthony, or something like that. I was there with a friend checking out some keyboards, a Prophet 5, IIRC, to go along with his Minimoog (the original), lots of fun to play with. Another aside, we saw Mahogany Rush around that time, too, at a club called Reflections; I remember the petri dishes with colored oils that there used with an overhead projector for a trippy stage light effect!

No Jeff. I've never heard of these guys. VERY smooth jazz sound!!!!!!! Thanks for turning me on to them.
BTW: I have quite an ALBUM(vinyl) collection myself. I MUCH prefer them to CD's.
Gotta LOVE the art work on those old jackets!!!!!!

Here's a cool one from Kittyhawk:
I didn't even remember that it was Richard Elliot in the band, I guess he did okay for himself after Kittyhawk.
