Need identification help!

Can anyone help me identify this guitar? The peg head has the old Rickenbacher spelling. The original top has been replaced with a flat top, so I don't know if it had a pickup originally. The lower bout is almost 17" wide, upper bout is about 12", and the body is almost 21" long. The back is veneer construction, but the sides appear to be solid. Thanks

Welcome! But you've neglected to show us the most important part - the top, which would have a pickup, I'd think! Does it have an old horseshoe? I've never seen lettering like that on any Rick headstock, but never say never with Ricks.

The original top is long gone, and has been replaced with a veneer top. The owner says the original top did not have a pickup and there's no hole in the sides for a jack. The current owner's grandfather bought it from a pawn shop in California in 1957.
