They're going to appear in a national Levi's ad campaign soon. Levi's ad department wrote me to say "Alex White of White Mystery wanted me to tell you that she's been a lifelong Rickenbacker player (bought her first when she was 15), and it was even featured on an album cover: http://whitemystery.bandcamp.com/album/blood-venom"

Mystery to me!!! I do like their song: Birthday.

Not sure what this all has to do with Levis. Did they send an ad clip?

Should be good exposure unless they do something weird.

I am kind of obsessed with Levi's jeans (the Commuter line is amazing), so this unintentional cross-pollination is pretty cool in my book.

Hopefully it's not a guitar/drums only band, like the White Stripes (ugh!) and the Black Keys (ugh! again).

I agree with you to the extent that some two-piece bands sound to me a bit thin compared to a "full" band. But some, like Clatter, can really pull it off, mostly due to some extraordinary musicianship. You get a four piece band made of up of half-assed players and it still only barely adds up to two.

Never heard of them, but they look like Axl Rose and Courtney Love.

It's probably because I started out on bass trombone, then moved to bass guitar, before eventually moving on to guitar. So it's hard to fathom missing the lower half of the sonic spectrum.

For me, the only act who even came close to pulling off the lack of a bassist was Hound Dog Taylor & The Houserockers.

Hello,

Thank you for the attention.

My name is Miss Alex White, and I'm the redheaded Rickenbacker player from White Mystery you're discussing.

I bought the new Fireglo 330 from the Chicago Music Exchange about 13 years ago, and have played more than 1000 shows in 15 countries since.

Check out White Mystery online, and please feel free to send your questions my way :)

I definitely look a lot more like Poison Ivy, from the Cramps, don't you think?

Hello Mr. Hall,

Thank you for starting this thread! I met Ben Hall at NAMM and really enjoyed connecting with everyone from Rickenbacker. My dream is to have a custom Rick when I turn 30 and the guitar turns 15, which is in 2 years. Who do I talk to about that?

Have a great day,

Miss Alex White

Hi Alex,

Well, I would say from the above photo, you already met the guy you need to talk to about a custom RIC. Good luck with that. You've got a couple of years to convince him. Welcome to the RRF. You've got a great sounding band. :D
