Love love love my RIC, the G tuner has been "sticky" since I purchased it, any advice on how to get it to tune smoothly?

sounds like the whole bass is defective, and can be sent to me for proper disposal...
How do the teeth on that gear look? Any obvious burs or such. Does it seem to be mounted flush like the rest of them?
How does it feel when you take that string off?

Yes, really. I was looking for Grover or Kluson....or if some kind of mod had been made.

Gear looks fine, no burr. Just isn't smooth like the other three. It's flush.

Check to see how tight the screw on the large gear is. It might be overtightened. Another question, is the nickle all corroded and nasty looking? Disassembling the tuner and polishing it (them all) up might also help.

I'll check the screw. It's not super clean but not corroded. Thanks!

I'd take the string off and see if it just binding in one location or what. Does it still bind with the string off? cleaning is always a good idea. Sometimes crud will build up in the shaft and all... are there bushings? how does that/they look? Maybe compare to one of the others. Definitely the screw and cleaning first. Good luck, keep us posted.

Took the string off, backed the screw off a smudge and restrung it. Nice and smooth, thank you for the advice
