Now this bass (and their Bass VI) are more along of the lines of a bassist like me! I have smaller hands than the average bass player, and have trouble getting around a standard long scale bass guitar neck. I once played a vintage Vox Bill Wyman bass, and it was perfect. I also groove with Hofner basses, and would probably enjoy a Fender Mustang Bass very much. I strictly use flatwound strings, and play 100% with a pick, but the latter may just be coming from a guitar background.

In short, I like this instrument.

If I had known this a couple years ago I would have given you my '96 MIJ Mustang Bass with TI Jazz Flats on it!

There's elements of the Capri, perhaps. Cute axe and it did lead me to finding this.

I'm in lust.

I'd think for as long as they've been doing this design, and as tenacious as they always are, and as visible as this Nelson shape has been for some time now, RIC would have had it squashed by now, or we would have heard about something happening if it was a current valid trade dress or mark.
