i'd like to install toasters in my 330. now there are sellers on ebay that sell original ric toasters with "mounting rigs" whereas on the ric homepage shop they just sell the pickups. do i really need some mounting rigs for my 330 or would the pickup be all i need?

The standard high gain pick-ups have a one piece black foam pad stuck under the pick up which provides a buffer when it's screwed to the guitar. Guitars which had factory fitted toasters (whether older vintage or modern reissues/upgraded VP guitars) most often were fitted with six small rubber grommets to provide the same buffer. If you're retrofitting you can use either the foam pad or the grommets. However, one practical consideration is the condition of the surface of the guitar when you unscrew the high gains. On older guitars, there is very often bad bleaching from the black foam pad into the the surface finish of the guitar (i.e. a black stain in the shape of the foam pad has formed underneath) - in my experience it's impossible to get rid of that stain without some sort of invasive process on the guitar. So if you have that problem, you're probably limited to using another foam pad as if you retrofit the grommets the stain is visible (unless you are lucky and have a Jetglo

). Both the grommets and foam pads are cheaply available from RIC or local distributors/stores.

That's great to hear Oswald!! Once you have them fitted to your 330 it's gonna look very similar to my old Jetglo 360/12V64
