Reading the hype on these.... they give you an almost round wound sound with the treble up and a flatwound sound with the treble down.

OK....I'm willing to bite.

The lgt/med sets run .050 .065 .085 .105

Should these be fine on a v63 without having to do any nut modifications?

Also, anyone have any experience with these on their Rics?

I've bought 2 sets so far,got the lighter gauge each time.(perfect!,and no need to recut the nut) Neither of the sets went on any of my Ricks, though. They are wonderfully smooth and have a great tone, whether you want to emphasize the thump or the crystalline clank. I used them on my 4 string Rimini, and my Carvin ac50,so that's 2 semihollow designs with humbuckers on the Italia, and a piezo system on the Carvin, and they were fab on both. They're very different to the regular black Labella tapes, too. I am probably going to buy another set for my Ac40 fretless, since I have sold the other 2 basses.

Sounds like these would go well on my acoustic-electric Fender Precision fretless. It's made in Japan around 1990, has a Lace Sensor P pickup and a piezo. Up till now I've been using their nylon filament bass strings, happy for the most part.
