Hello

I have owned my beautiful 620/6 Midnight Blue since October last year and am now getting some string buzz that has come from nowhere. I have not changed the set up and I have not given the guitar a knock so I don't know why it has started. Having never owned a Rickenbacker before I have no idea how to sort out. All the strings are buzzing individually, some more than others and if I strum all the strings it's even worse.
Any ideas guys?????????????????

Do you mean the strings are buzzing when you play them openly or when you're fretting notes with your left hand or both? Is there more buzz at certain parts of the neck or on certain strings? Sounds to me like it could be a bridge issue (rather than routine fret buzz), but I'll leave it up to one of our resident experts to chime in. Do you have a decent guitar tech who knows Rickenbackers?

The string buzz is at it's worst with open strings, I have to fret them harder than normal to kill the buzz, as I say I have not altered the bridge so am puzzled as to why it has started out of the blue?

What is the action like on the guitar? When was the last time you gave it a fresh set of strings? Have you examined the bridge?

I had a look at the bridge and the buzzing was coming from there so I raised it a bit and that seems to have solved it. I bought the guitar new but I don't know how long the strings have been on the guitar. I don't know why the buzzing started as the guitar has been either on a stand or in it's case so I don't see why the bridge would have moved?????????
Out of interest what do I need to remove the bridge cover as the two allen keys that came with the guitar don't fit those screws?????

Guitars don't live in a perfect vacuum. They're made of wood and affected by their environment. Rickenbackers are infamous for bridge rattle.
