I Saw the Holy Grail Today.

Well, one of them.
Gigged in Cleveland Saturday night and had to stop by the Rock Hall on my way back...
I got a good look at the back of the headstock. The stand was blocking much of the crack, but I saw that the break goes all the way through to the nut on the other side. I don't think you can see it at all in my ****** picture though.
Overall, DB122's a fair bit more beat up than it looks in photos -- rusty, chipped, and well-worn. Hope I can see V81 someday too!

Very cool, Dan
The one time I was at the RnRHOF, they had Lennon's 320/12 as well, along with Harrison's 450. All still there?
It's an incredible museum and one of the best reasons to go to Cleveland.

Both "temporarily removed"

. But Lennon's J160E was there. I've seen 'em before, cool guitars but I've been waiting my whole life to see John's 6 string 325s.

Agreed, although I'm not such a big fan of the architecture -- it really breaks up the experience, IMO. But incredible artifacts there.
In addition to DB122, they had Carl Wilson's '64 360/12 OS (refinished natural), Mike Rutherford's double neck, and a burgundy 4001 I didn't catch the owner of.

Thanks for sharing Dan. It's always nice to see fresh photos of John's guitars. There are some nice clear shots taken while setting this display up

Were you able to look down and see what kind of bridge was on the guitar? (Just curious.)

Makoto Fujimaki certainly appreciates everyone's attention to details.

I got a good look down the guitar from above and I think I saw plain saddles on it. I wasn't specifically looking so it would be cool if someone else could corroborate.

I'm not really into conspiracy theories.

He's implying that the guitar is fake.
Not that I couldn't see that being a possibility, but it's all hearsay until proof is provided.

I'm saying I think it's real until I see proof otherwise. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, that's my view.
