Oh and hi to everyone!
Newbie at the forum here. Have been a lurker and reader for a long time but as I finally got a hold of the bass I wanted I thought I might as well register.

It's missing the string dampener and the pick up cover. But other than that it's in very good condition with a bit of tail lift (which I expected).

Cheers

One of the few white guitars I ever really loved the look of. Welcome to the forum, congrats and enjoy your 4001.

Thanks guys :)

I'm really happy with it. Does anyone know of a good dealer in europe that handle spare parts? Or do I need to order from Rickenbacker themselves?

There's three companies here in the UK that I've used and would recommend: Rossetti, Sound Affects and Ricky Sounds.

The rubber for the string dampener, a new nut (as I discovered today the existing one might go any day) and a pick up cover is what I need.

Thanks! I'll have a look at them.

Thank you all. I'm going to add a few more photos as soon as possible.

Congrats, and welcome . . . yes; the (aged) white/black trim style sure has a special allure to it.

It looks to be in really good shape, too -- true? How's the neck?

It's in great shape. A few dings and bangs but nothing out of the ordinary on a 37 year old bass :)

The neck is actually a lot better than I expected. It's straight and with very little fret ware.
The trussrods have their original caps and there's no damage to the block as far as I can see.

I was expecting some work to be done but the only thing on it is some tail lift. I'm going to sort that as soon as I can find the time.

Thanks guys for all the welcomes. I'm super happy to finally be a part of this great family of Rickenbacker owners.

/Daniel
