Hello,
Glen Matlock played a Rickenbacker Bass in 1976/77, which he bought after The Pistols signed to EMI Records in October 1976.

Seeking advice and information (Model, Colour, Year, Pickups, etc) of this particular guitar.

Please find the video of Anarchy (Glen playing the Rickenbacker) & the three photographs below:

Any help in identifying this Bass would be most appreciated. I believe it is a 4001 model.

All the best.

Late 73?

The upper horn looks 73ish to me.

...the tuners are no wavy Grovers, which are supposed to be on a 73/74 but could have been replaced.

The tuners seem to be Klusons/Schallers, didn't Rickenbacker switch to those around '74/'75?

... jep, that's why I assume it is rather of that period. In May 1975 the transition of the 1/2" neck-PU spacing to 1" neck-PU spacing took place.
In 11/12 1974 the transition from chrome to black ferrrules together with introduction of the Kluson reverse tuners with the big single slotted back screw took place.
At the same time the upper, large horn became bigger and some darker grained fretboards appeared.
So this bass from Glen Matlock might be a late '74 tom early '75 one, as it still has the chrome ferrules but already the Klusons.
