"A Million Miles Away" by The Plimsouls can sit comfortably amongst the classic Rickenbacker songs. Beatles, Byrds made historic use of the Ric 12 string and, yup, The Plimsouls carried on the great tradition. Early '80s tune but I don't know what is the exact Rickenbacker model being used? It looks like a George model, but the binding around the soundhole confuses me.
1:45 shows it in all its glory. What's the model?

Appears to be a 360/12 WB with trim on the soundhole as well. That's my first impression. Nice 12.

All the WB's have bound soundholes. (It wasn't a vintage reissue, just a 360 with old body shape and bound top).

Thanks, folks.
Have to say, if they made that model again, I'd buy! What a gorgeous guitar. Seems they took the best of the 330 model (the shape) and mixed it with the best of the 360 model. Triangle inlays, gorgeous binding, the beauty of a bound soundhole, and all in the classic pointed-horns shape. Absolutely fantastic looking Ric.

I agree that this is, to me, the quintessential Rickenbacker guitar. I would buy one, too, but I bet it would be on the pricey side! I think there might be a history associated with this particular guitar. I know it's been discussed here somewhere.

Tommy,
It's rare to hear a Rick 12-string in this kind of heavy-rock context. Surely a classic. Thanks for sharing.

Totally agree.
If I had to draw someone a Rickenbacker guitar, this FireGlo 360/12 WB would be what appears on my paper. Shape, color, binding, inlays...it has all the quintessential elements that make a Rickenbacker the best looking guitar out there. Don't know what the pickup specs are on the guitar, but in the looks department it scores 10 out of 10. I wonder if it came with trapeze or 'R' tailpiece? My drawing would have the 'R'.
And would it be pricey? Probably. But if you are going to save for a Ric, this sure would be the one.
Wow, that's pretty neat. $2,600. I suppose that is a good price for something they ain't making anymore. I love the "time machine condition" description. Unfortunately in some of the pictures you can see that the time machine allowed for some strong yellowing of the binding. Real cool guitar, though. If I hadn't bought a 325c64 just three months ago...maybe, just maybe.

My guess is that the plexi TRC, trapeze TP and the knobs are not original to the guitar, but were added to make it more closely resemblle the V64 reissue which had just started production around 1985. The toaster-top pickups could be original, though the rubber grommets under the PUs are likely an add-on. I have seen other WBs from this era with toasters, though the standard issue would have been hi-gains.
