ToasterBuckers!

OK, those who have read my posts for awhile know that I occasionally bring up the topic of ToasterBuckers. Now, I may have found one. The Barden folks have redone their website and posted some pictures of alternate mountings of their pickups. This picture is off their website, and they specifically say to purchase covers from RIC. That said, they have pictures of their pickups both in an open high-gain/HB1 cover, and...wait for it...THIS! Now, we both know that the original toasters were used in both the guitars and the neck pickup of the basses. So I'm thinking it might be possible to put a set of these on a guitar. However, one glitch: right now, Barden only advertises that they sell the bass set. I wonder if they could be convinced to sell either singles or sets for guitars? I'm going to email them and see. In the meantime, enjoy the picture!

Great idea. Scott, you could also ask them if they can alloy toaster covers and/or accent into gold. Gold hardware on midnight blue is only possible with HB1 's, regretfully.

I've always just carefully put a toaster cover over a Ric HB. I have them on my 480's and did it on a 620.

Yes, that is possible, but with 14 to 15 kohms' worth of wire, the mids are boosted and the top end rolls off just a tad. They don't jangle. This has the possibility of at least a passable facsimile of jangle.
