I did a (very) rough photoshop simulation of what the new W series would look like with the darker rosewood fretboard. Take a look. What ya think?

Hmm, how can I put this... I like it to the same extent I do the one with the maple board.

The Rosewood really doesn't go well with the Maple body- too much wood or at least disparate wood color and grain.
Of course, this isn't likely to ver be an option, especially when you consider the success this series, just as it is, has enjoyed. Europe, in particular, has embraced the Walnut and Maple look, with sellouts of the original shipments and reorders already. The 330W's start to ship in quantity during the next week.

Reminds me of black socks and navy shoes (or vice-versa).

My only criticism of the W series is that the inlays don't read well. Perhaps a darker material would make me happy. Other than that, the design is fresh and exciting.

I think John H. means Walnut body.
As I have owned some 380Ls and a 380l/PZ I would be inclined to stick with the maple neck as I really like the feel of this kind of neck when playing it. I also agree that's the Rosewood just makes the whole thing a bit too "woody" ... lots of grains to take in.
The simple neck leads the eye to the nice walnut body grain.
Great news on the 330s. I have one on order. I'd better get busy and deliver a few more pizzas.

Yes, I sure did! That's what happens when you post at the same time as taking a phone call!

I respectfully disagree with Mr. JH on this one. I think it looks great.

Well, chacun à son goût.
Have you ever been to Sorrento, Italy? They sell tables and all manner of gimcrackery there, inlaid with various woods, of all colors and types. Same idea when you add Rosewood to the mix on this guitar.
It's unfortunate that Walnut would be a lousy fingerboard wood- now THAT would look quite striking.

So here's the "W" line-up. I have a 380L/12, 380L/6 PZ and now this nice little 330/6. I am really liking the way this neck and fingerboard feel on the 330.
Also, for years now I have had either humbuckers or VPs on my RICs so it is nice to be able to play around with the Hi-Gains. They have a lot of punch.
Great little guitar. Nice innovation John H. & Company!!

Looks great, Timothy!

Just a few more to go until you have the complete set.
