Who Does Pickup Rewinds for Ric Bass (in USA)?

Post by johnbfiles »

Hi Guys,

I need a couple of 4001/4003 pickups rewound. Who do you recommend here in the USA? I just want these back to stock parameters.

Thanks!

Lindy Fralin offers rewind services for just about any pickup.

Fralin's website reads in bold letters at the top:
"In order to ship new pickups in a timely fashion we are now only taking in Fender and Gibson pickups for rewinding."

Tom Brantley has rewound Geddy's pickups, specifically lists Rickenbacker on his site, and does so for $50.

Sorry, have chatted with them before but not in the last 12 months. Ditto with Lollar, who I see isn't doing any repair work at all any more.
Edit: checked my records and the pickup project was back in 2011.... so 3 years instead of 12 months - where does all that time go????

I believe Seymour Duncan does rewinds out of his custom shop too. Whether they are back to stock or not I couldn't tell you. Stock could be very different anyway depending on the year of the pickups.

You are correct! :)
The following is pasted directly from the Seymour Duncan website:
Seymour Duncan wrote:We do offer rewinding service. Rewind single coil starts at $65.00 and it will depend on type of pickup. Rewinding Humbucker will start at $85.00. If you're interested, please contact our Custom Shop at 805-964-9610 between 8 am - 5 pm (Pacific) Monday - Friday.

I have a question for the forum members, lets say a guy was a pickup winder, and lets say he reads a thread like this where someone is asking who winds, would it be an offense (against forum rules) for this pickup winder to mention himself in this context, or not?

If you are answering a question posed by a forum member then you are providing them with an answer. You can reach them using a PM or email through the board. Commercial advertising outright, however, is not allowed. Hope this helps.
