.......when I bought a
Strymon Flint! The '4001 sounds pretty amazing with it.

How are you running it with the 4001 (trem, verb..?).

I love using both, they work really well together (as I have always known, anyway) with this pedal given the three variations of each. The '60 (spring reverb) is pretty nice but the '70s (plate) and '80s (hall) are truly special!

All three tremolos sound wonderful; I have owned amps with all three types (harmonic - my 1962 Concert amp that I currently have, tube bias - early '70s Princeton Reverb Amp that a friend of mine now has, and photo cell - a 1966 BandMaster I used to own). The pedal has stereo out for the reverbs (the tremolo is mono) and the input jack is setup by default as a mono input, but there is an internal jumper to switch the input jack to stereo in, as it is a TRS jack, just perfect for running a stereo cable from a ROS equipped instrument into and having the pickups split to the left and right outputs on the pedal, even with the effects bypassed.

This is the most amazingly fun pedal I have ever owned. I just got it yesterday and since last night I have already recorded a bunch of
new ideas noodling with it, some running the toaster through my MOJO
MOJO pedal after the Flint to keep the reverb tails clean sounding. One cool (of many) features of the Flint is that it is really easy to set it up to have the tremolo come before or after the reverb for different sounding decays.

If you don't mind I'd love some recordings of your noodling/ideas/etc. I have never really messed with trem with a bass, so I have no idea what that would even sound like!
There's almost never a time I can really do much with ROS with my setup except to record, but still, this seems like a fun addition to my pedal board. Does the input impedance seem decent?

Ah, of course. I do own a copy of Fragile after all and HOTS is one of my favorites... another example of me being daft.

Nah, you're just starting to have, um, er, uh, what was I writing about, again?

Ooh, that looks interesting!
Now, if only I had an old 4001 with ROS!

Even running
just a mono bass into the Flint the stereo reverbs make it sound huge, so don't sweat the non-ROS bass (or is that another hint of a certain bass you want?

). The demos I have made with the fretted Martin Keith sound fabulous, too. And the ones with the Snowglo 4004L is way cool, too; I made a 25 minute recording Tuesday night I am calling
Mrs. Snow and Mr. Flint Go To The Improve!
Interesting aside regarding running ROS with the 4001, the non interactive nature between the two pickups now make the magnetic Mr. Ed significantly louder than the toaster, although the horseshoe pickup does have the cap bypassed for now. This is one big horsie.

Ha! No, but now that you mention it!

This reminded me that my 4004L is mono (duh). I wonder, if someone really wanted a ROS 4004, if a stereo jack couldn't just be used in the jack hole and a special plug converting it to mono on the other end could be used. Wired with two volumes it should work, and if the tone control were replaced with a ToneStyler duo model the one position would cover each pickup independently, keeping the stereo signal intact.

Not done on a 4001, but Led Zeppelin's, "Heartbreaker" features JPJ using tremolo.

Yep! I almost hear sort of a Leslie effect on that one.

Jimmy Page played his guitar though a Leslie sometimes, so maybe JPJ gave it a whirl.
