New here. My two Rickenbackers...

Post by mesadude »

Bought a 660/12 in 2004 new. Great sounding & playing guitar. Used it on Thursday at a gig in St. Helena, CA outdoors in the city park. Took a pic of it hanging on the guitar rack as we were setting up.

Picked up this 350SH this week. It arrived today. Not a scratch on it. Like it's right out of the box. #55 of 250.

Yes, it is the one from POTR, and yes, the 660/12 is burgundy. Bought it from The Rickenbacker Page 10 years ago.
I've been playing with a British Invasion band lately (one of 3 bands I play in). I have a Gretsch 6122, and thought I'd go for a 325c64. I received it, but the neck was so small, I could barely play the thing. Sent it back and decided to splurge on a collector's item, which pretty much has the same look, the 350SH. Still not quite used to the 'Rick' sound, other than with a 12-string, but I'll figure it out.

Both very cool guitars - again my congrats on an excellent purchase. I have lusted after a SH but they are well out of my price range. So I admire them from a distance.

I have a Burgundy 620 from the 2002 COY run... One of my favorite finishes now.

There can't be many 660 12s around like yours.

Hi and welcome, I'm new here myself.
Congrats on the SH, I'd like one of those in my
collection.
I've noticed the fretboard inlays look a bit gold or
yellow on the SH.
Does anyone know if that's the original color, or
is it due to age?

I'll bet the varnish has yellowed a bit.
