I don't know if this has been posted anywhere else, but I just ran across this incredibly ignorant negative post about Ric's.

I am still scratching my head as to why anyone would write an article about something that they admittedly know nothing about . . . .

I wouldn't say the post is entirely negative.
But it does may our instruments sound really exclusive doesn't it ?
I love my RICs no matter what !

He's not being negative. He's basically saying compared to Fender & Gibson Rics are like bigfoot. There are a few sightings, lots of speculation but he's never seen one.

Man, this guy is even worse than those dudes on that Rickenbacker fan site who diss Fenders....

Why oh why oh why would someone take the time to write a blog like this?

It's like writing a blog about hummus, if you didn't like hummus, the way it looked, and/or other people's opinion of hummus, but you'd never eaten it because they don't carry it in the convenience store where you shop.

I wish I had that much time on my hands.

Which perfectly describes some other forums I visit on occasion (sometimes it occurs on this one, too).

The only reason I can see to have written that was sheer boredom.

I have actually read some very inflammatory, anti-Ric stuff in the past that had grains of truth to it. It might make me a little mad but I also had to agree with some of the better made points. A close friend really tore into the 4004 series at one point and while I didn't like hearing it, he spoke the truth. Things have improved since... Whether his ire had a role to play in that I don't know.

This on the other hand is just some guy's ramblings much ado about nothing, like Kenny said I wish I had that much spare time.

Love that this thread produced Erik's bigfoot pic though...

He's right about the RIC website - it is in serious need of updating.

Other than that, it's a useless article.

If they can’t tell me the price up front then I assume, possibly in error, that the price is flexed based on the person purchasing. For example, if you are a beautiful blonde the price is lower and if you’re not the price is higher.

I too share the concern that Internet, telelephone, and, in the past, mail order, sales companies have been persecuting me for my appearance.

Up the dosage - or the voltage.

This joker probably votes, too.
