Hi
Please can anyone help me? I
bought a fabulous 4001 August 1972 .. but the original treble pickup has been replaced with a non-original.
What kind of pickup was mounted on 4001 1972? what kind of pickups does it fit?
Any of you have an old pickup to sell me or can give me directions where to find it?
I'm from Italy
Thank you a lot

Here's my '72 bridge pick up. I got it from PotR some time ago. It's not for sale, just info. Good luck with your search.

...page Sérgio, he might reassemble you a period correct one if he has the necessary parts...

If you find a pickup, I have a period-correct "short" pickup cover I'm considering selling.

Good luck on that one, I have never seen one for sale at least on ebay. I would try Sergio also, he fixed a 72 bridge pickup for me and did a good job.

I bought the only one that did pop up over the last two years. I paid a hefty price for it...

Friends I have a Dilemma ..
1: look for the original piece, it would be the best solution to maintain the value of the instrument.
2: mount a pickup Rickenbacker current production...
3: mount a good pickup craft? Which of these solutions (2/3) to enhance the value of the instrument?

...if Sergio does it, I assume 3 is the solution!

Go with Sergio, whether he rebuilds one, rewinds a new one to old spec, or otherwise, he does great work.
Finding an original '72 pickup for sale (without the bass it was attached to) is going to be nearly impossible.

You missed one Jeff, I got another one from eBay last year.
