Hi all,

Just won this on ebay. The seller, who admits he's not a Ric expert, wants to confirm it's definitely the part I want prior to shipping to the UK. I was certain, but it's put a small element of doubt in my mind. I was after a "short" circa-'72 handrest/pickup cover for one of my '72s and haven't actually seen one in the flesh, although it looks correct to me.

Thanks Mark, the prompt response is very much appreciated. Sorry to hear you missed bidding (although it was good for me ); I must admit I was surprised and thought it may go quite a bit higher.

I'm having a lot of problems with my arms - my shoulders sublux frequently which affects all aspects of my playing - and I'm having to think about changing both my technique and hand position. Given that I'm currently hovering over the bridge pickup (I generally play at the bridge) I thought this might help as I can then rest my hand.

In that case the right man got it! Hope it helps with the problem and keeps you playing Shaun.

I'm sure it'll have increased somewhat after shipping and duty.

I fitted the pickup cover/handrest yesterday, above the springs as I'd read on here somewhere; I've had no experience of the 'short' cover before. It 's certainly the correct part but sits quite a bit higher than I'm used to.

I'll have to see how it goes; when I used them (always the taller cover that sits under the springs) I always had my covers pretty close to the strings as I play pretty lightly and don't move the string much.
