I just saw these strings from a UK-based supplier, and wondered if anyone had used them or can offer a comparison with Rickernbacker's own strings? I use Ric strings but am intrigued by what they have to say:

"We have sourced our own brand of Bass strings from the same factory in the USA which supplied Rickenbacker for over 12 years. Apart from the packaging they are exactly the same as the strings we grew to love before RIC changed supplier.
An exclusive fusion wound winding process uses electricity to adhere the cover wrap more tightly to the core, producing greater brilliance, volume and longevity than any bass string yet developed.
The ultimate bright sounding nickel bass string. The "Fusion Winding" process, uses an electrical calibration technique to integrate a string's cover winding with its core. This innovative method fuses a string into one super flexible mass, eliminating dead spots that occur during the string's life.
Available only from Rickysounds."
