It's been ages since I have last seen Rick Resource. I was very much surprised that my '96 325v63 is listed in the registry (C9 8351). It shows that it was sold, but it wasn't. I ended up keeping it. I broke out the Ric earlier today to show to my 3 year old son. He immediately wanted to strum it under my watchful eye, of course. Here's a pic of him with my Ric.
I did have two questions. It's been some time since I've given it a good cleaning and the jetglo color has a slight foggy sheen to it. I had read on the Rickenbacker company forum that using glass cleaner and a natural clean cloth will correct it.
Is this safe to use? Most window cleaners are ammonia based and I'm paranoid of permanently damaging the finish.
I has also noticed a new issue. The upper pickguard developed some bubbling in the top glossy layer. It wasn't there last spring, but it's apparent now. I've never has issues with temperature and humidity (I'm in Florida) , however the guitar was relocated to my father in law's for safekeeping after our house was broken into June 2013. He never used air conditioning and my concern that being in his place for several months caused some reaction with that component.
I will have to supply an image that illustrates this issue better. I'm a bit irritated that I may have to replace that part.
