10th fret marker on my 2030

Hi guys,
Was wondering if anyone could shed any light on this,my 2030 bass has a 10th fret marker,instead of on the 9th,the bass is a bit bashed up,and only cost £400,I'm thinking about stripping it and clear coating,

Wow, somebody screwed up. I've seen missing markers or additional ones, but not a misplaced one like this. Interesting.

I should send it back to rickenbacker for a new fretboard to be fitted!(tongue firmly planted in cheek),seriously whats the chances??

10 instead of 9 is standard on mandolins! Flip it upside down to play it.

In the early 80's an Azure 4001 came through the music store I was taking trumpet lessons at. One of the frets near 9 or 10 was horribly misplaced...pretty sure they sent it back.

QC is much, much better. Mr. JH is very particular about everything being exactly as it should be, not just QC, but everything.
