I bought a 1980 360/12 last February which came without it's original hard case. I current use an acoustic guitar case for it but I'm looking for something more suited to the shape of the Guitar. Genuine Rickenbacker Guitar cases cost a small fortune where I live or to even order one on the internet.
Can anyone suggest a good alternative 9if there is one).

Unfortunately it's not a standard guitar shape at all. I don't know of a single non-factory case that fits (except custom built cases).

I have a molded 300 series Ric case ,but you wouldn't want to put your Ric in it,only because it turned the binding on my 360V64 yellow and it stank ,took a few weeks to get rid of that smell from the guitar, which was not a nice smell.
Apparently there was a problem with odour in some cases a few years ago, something to do with the glue and the foam or something to that affect .
I ended up getting a new vintage silver reissue case, which was correct for that guitar,i wouldn't put any Ric back in that stinkin case.
So remember, if you're looking at any used Ric cases online to ask if there is a bad smell from it first.
