I'm thinking of looking around for a 380L and was wondering how it compares to a Rick 360? I had a 360 and loved it for rhythm but not so much for solos. The 380 has a hard tail bridge and different neck setup than the 360 so I'm wondering how it is for solos? More like a 650 in feel?
Any input?
Thanks

search this forum for 380L, there has been a lot written about it. It is a different bird than the 360 in many ways.
Also this model comes either with or without a piezo pickup in the bridge.

The 380L also has humbucking pickups, while the 360 has single coils. I believe the nut on a 380L is also wider than a 360. An alternative to the more expensive and hard to find 380L would be a new 360W with RIC's HB1 humbuckers added with corresponding wiring.

Yes the 360 has a 1 5/8" nut and high gain pickups where as the 380L has a 1 3/4" Nut and humbuckers. I'm interested in finding out how the 380L "Frets"…"Plays" compared to a 360 since the neck and bridge are mounted differently than the 360.
Anyone have both?

The 380 neck is wider, quite slim, easy to play. The palm can rest easyly on the bridge, no problem with controlled muting, with the Piezo option a lot of tonal choices are possible. IMO one of the best models ever (what 'ya think, Tim?), they don't show up too often.
A 380 L PZ in Great Britain, good price, someone snag it !
