Close examination of the first pics seem to indicate that the neck pickup route has been changed for the better.

It looks also that you could easily put the neck pickup in the 1/2" position with a pick guard made for it.

Man! I stopped buying too soon!

No, not that one, the other one. As far as I know Tony has made only two of them, same year, 2011.

If RIC doesn't make them in black, I know someone who does...

D'oh!!! But that "other" one is blowout priced at $5,000

What are they like to play, a little bit different than a 481 slat-fret I suppose...

A small fraction of the fingerboard has a similar slant to the frets. Actually, going by this only example of a fanned fret instrument I have played, they are quite natural feeling, I don't notice any adverse or weird affects of the multiscale neck, only an amazing bottom end from both the longer scale length to the bass strings and the jumbo body (which BTW, has a Manzer Wedge®, along with an arm bevel making the instrument feel smaller than it really is). 8)

I never considered that the neck pickup pocket could accommodate a 1/2" spacing. If it does, I know I'm going to be ordering yet another pickguard from Tony D. The 620 white plexi guards just arrived today and I put a plexi on my 4003s.
