Man, what a guitar ! One of only fifteen has landed here in Munich. Just in time to my 65th birthday I was lucky to get my hands on one of these. I purchased it from the first owner here in Germany who brought it home christmas 2012 from USA, from a dealer in Louisville, Kentucky (Guitar Emporium). I picked it up in Cologne last week. I set it up to my needs, new strings, installed an accent vibrato. I ensure you this one looks better than no photo ever could do justice, sound and playability is beyond wishes, bridge pickup rocks! Pics to follow...but as said above....
:) :) :) :) :) :) :D :D :D :D :D :D

Congrats, Alex! 8)

It would have been even nicer if the guy just gave the guitar to you for your birthday.

Thanks, Jeff! Yeah, would have been a real good birthday present. But the price was quite decent with 2.300 € , given the fact that he paid 2.600 USD (he gave me all papers) and 550 € extra costs for shipping, german VAT and customs. No chance to get a guitar like that out of US for that price now with the exchange rate these days. I am quite happy with how it all went down, nice guy ! There was a 360/12 MG with 21 frets from the 70's in his room, great playing neck, lovely instrument he won't sell (I wouldn't either 8) )

Congratulations, Alex. I was able to get one of those a while back from this site's Marketplace. Yes, they are very nice guitars. I love mine. Interesting that you added an Accent as I've been thinking about that myself.

Works perfectly, had it on my 360V64 and still is on my 340. Do it. No spots left on the ramp from the felt washers, could polish out with no problems.

Hi Alex - congratulations on a great buy!

Not the only one in Europe though, as I scored one of these in the UK a few months back - photo attached!

I know that two of these limited-edition Rics are now owned by a well-known Forumite in the US, so that accounts for four of the fifteen!

No mods to mine as yet, but just stunning however you look at it.

Regards, Jim

Hi Jim,
good to know that there is some sisterguitar here in Europe. That well known forumite must be the one with Irish roots in his name
The mod i've done is easyly reversible, just the strap pin, I keep the R anyway. This beauty would also look brilliant with a trapeze - this guitar is so timeles classic :D

You got it in one, Alex .... and, well done for identifying that well-known US Ric collector Seamus O'Shaughnessy!

Apart from the unique colour, fantastic paint job and the BH BT combination, IMHO the 21-frets and X-bracing make this very limited-edition model every bit as desirable as many vintage Rics - without any of the problems associated with 50-year old guitars. Truly a wonderful example of the art of Rickenbacker!

Mine is still sitting right here, and Olivia's Vintage seems to have gotten their hands on one:

(With a pretty interesting piece of fretboard wood, BTW.)

...so there's six of them. :D

Glad to make the acquaintance of another member of our very exclusive club, Dan. Just nine more to go!

The fretboard on my 330S shows some subtle dark figuring, but I agree that the OV one is exceptional.
