I might have a chance to get a 2000 Carl Wilson Limited Edition that is mint
I would have to trade my Fender American Deluxe Telecaster and my Amp
a Tone King Imperial. I can always get an Amp so what can anyone tell about
this guitar. Thanks in advance and I'll post some pictures in a little while.

I'm no expert on trade values. However, my left-handed 360/12 Carl Wilson sounds great thru my Tone King Imperial. The TK has become my primary amp.

Beautiful guitar! If it were me, I would probably make the trade.

If I remember correctly from the "Rickenbacker 12-String" book, there were 1,000 Carl Wilson guitars produced, split between 6 and 12 string. The tops were slightly thinner than regular tops, which gives them more of an acoustic guitar quality.

Here's a link to info on the Rick forum:

Correct, but a limited series of just 500 guitars.

Thats right, 250 6-string and 250 12-string guitars.

They've got 3k Toasters (which is very very special) and the weight of the CW's is less than of a usual 360. You can feel the light-weight.

I love this guitar.

How does the sound of a 3k toaster different from a 7k toaster?

I had a 360 Carl Wilson in Jetglo which was an absolutely fantastic instrument. Man did it sound good. I'd love to get another just like it.

Per Mr. Hall:
"The stats have never been published. The total quantity is 500 units but it's certainly not split 50/50 between sixes and twelves. The preponderance of these were Fireglo's, there's a few Jetglo's, as there always are, and finally some lefties in all types."

Get the RIC. CWs are really great guitars. I've had both the 6 and 12. And that is a good looking example. Do it if you didn't already. You can always get a Telecaster too.
