New 4003S Tone

One for the new 4003S owners here.
I assume the pickups in the new 4003S' are the same as in the current 4003...but besides the body shape, does the bass sound exactly the same as a new 4003?
Only ask as I've often read that even changes in wood can affect the tone.
Quite tempted with the looks......

They sound a bit more rounded over.

But the S has the same pickups, neck wood, body wood, fretboard wood as a 4003, and both are neck-through, so I would have to believe they sound identical.
I
really like the looks of the S. I keep telling myself to stop hoping RIC makes a run of lefties to spare my wallet. If I were to actually ever get one, I would absolutely replace the mono jack with a stereo.
