Hi,

New to the forum and having a Rick-fever!

I'm looking at a late 80's RM 1997 reissue. Seems like just the kind of guitar I'm looking for, but it's kind of hard to find the right going price for it. Ebay doesn't really have these right now.

It doesn't come with a case and the tremolo arm is also missing. It has some dings and scratches here and there, but nothing major.

If someone could chime in on what the going price for a guitar might be I'd really appreciate it!

I bought my '98 1997 reissue off eBay at the beginning of the year for £1700 complete with case, accent vibrato (from the factory), in a stunning Fireglo finish. IMHO, Ric did their best Fireglo finishes around this time.

I can't rate the 1997 reissues highly enough, I'm so pleased with mine. Plays like a dream, and looks stunning. 10x better looking than the current 330s. I believe there's one on eBay at the moment in Mapleglo??

The 1997 reissue is simply hands down one of the best guitars I've ever owned.

In November of last year, a tight financial crunch forced me to sell my beloved '86 1997. The person I had in mind to sell the guitar to from the RRF family was in a buying position, so I sold it to him. If he'd like to make himself known, that's up to him. It really is in the best place it can be, given my circumstances. I'll always remember that guitar fondly.

1986 to 1993 were simply the best years for reissue Rickenbackers; every instrument I've played from that timeframe was a winner.

You don't find 1997s on eBay for a very good reason; owners don't really want part with 'em. :D :D :D

Welcome to the forum and good luck with your search.
