I can't help but notice that the young lady is very fond of showing off her shiny braces........
Very nice looking guitar, though.

I just noticed that one of the tuners (top E string) is tilted off center. That would have to be changed.

The Sperzels are also mounted upside down! If the guitar had gold plated hardware, would her braces have also been gold plated to match?

This may be one of Ed Roman's early attempts to "improve" the Dakota:-) Amazingly, five people have bid on this mess.

What a shame.
They even installed other humbuckers
(maybe the braces are included?)

The rose finish is wearing throuh already on the headstock. Spurzels have a locating pin instead of visible screw, so you can assume the incorrectly installed tuners already have misplaced locating pin holes drilled underneath them, or the original screw holes were utilized and that caused the tuner mixup.
After the Spurzels are switched over to the correct side, and the original humbuckers are reinstalled, it would make a good punk rocker axe for those who like flakey finishes and extra holes drilled in the body, but the reserve price is too high. You would think a bozo customizer would start out with cheap junky import guitars instead of new Rickenbackers.

Nice of the seller to include the original pickups - too bad the cutouts in the body are now too large to mount them in.
It's up to $500 now.....

It sold for $560. I paid $600 on ebay for this one:

It's a 2001 model and it came with everything--case, keys, owners manual/reg, allen wrenches, even the poster that Rick was including with these for awhile.

That's sad. I paid $699 for mine, brand new, with pickups that fit their cutouts, machine heads that were properly aligned, and a finish which hasn't faded or gone blotchy - and all the goodies that Jeffrey mentioned.
$560? That's really sad.....

I only paid $675 for my new 650D. That's why they call it ePay.
The whole point is that the "great buys" are anywhere else BUT eBay. eBay helps you find stuff that is rare and not likely to become available in your area, BUT FOR A FAIR MARKET PRICE. The best deal I ever got on eBay was a mint condition Spector ReBop with gig bag for $437 delivered, which is a couple hundred below what a dealer would have usually charged, but hardly a steal. In fact, I DID get it from a dealer, but not a Spector dealer. I have seen a used $40 Cabela's flyrod (if new) go for well over $100 on eBay, and lots of other things besides. $560 isn't as bad as the guy who originally paid $700 for a new one and then paid $200 more in tuners and pickups to screw it up, not including labor and that burnt rose finish. So if the guy wanted a screwed up guitar, he saved a lot of time and money by getting it predorked instead of dorking it up himself. There are a few out there who would actually TREASURE that modified 650D, and the guy could have done much worse. Scary, huh?
