Paul Weller's Jam Rickenbackers on display 2015
Paul Weller's Jam Rickenbackers on display 2015
Some of the Rickenbackers Paul Weller used during the time he was in The Jam. I took these photos at the Jam exhibition at Somerset House in London this July. It was very nice for me to to be able to get so up close to these guitars. I was surprised to see that the back of the 'Whaam' guitar hadn't been painted at all and the brushstrokes in the varnish were quite deep and wide. As for the black guitar, it was in a very sad condition. I knew it was a mess, but didn't think it was so abused and neglected.

Some great close up shots there Stuart! It was painted by Mike Quarington, who was Wing Music's guitar tech/repair guy for a while. An iconic guitar for sure!

I'd really like to see the other side of that first pic.

As you wish...here's a few photos of the basses. Sorry they are not very good.

Here are some photos of a fake Rickenbacker Bruce used around '77. He said he couldn't afford a real one at the time.
