Hello there,
How much mahagony nech through system adds depth and sustain at rickenbackers , I made a bass years ago but left it unfinished but the tab tone was ultra deep and sustained.
Some writers claim wood is not important and makers milk the cow.
If I would not experienced above , I would never think to ask.
Let me ask you ,
Thank you and Best wishes,

Rickenbackers are made of maple.

I think a lot of the treble crispness of a Ric is due to the maple neck beam, the wings are perhaps less important. I dont think any Ricks were made of mahogany.

Obscure knowledge to the rescue! A prototype version of the 480 (verified in the original auction through Rickenbacker) was built with a mahogany body.

Depth and sustain at Rickenbacker not mahagony, is pine. Knotty. Nech thru systems is for guillotine. Very efficiently. You know saying, if cow is dry milk goat.

I have to believe that the pickups are at least equally as significant to the sound of a Rick as any other factor, if not more so.
