I'm thinking it will make a nice compliment to my midnight blue w/ black trim 4003.

My wife will kill me though!

You can always find another wife. the Blue Boys don't come around often.

I never liked that finish until lately...It's really grown on me... There's a guy here in town with a 4003 BB with a vintage gold pickguard and TR cover on it...it has a toaster neck p/u in it and black vintage knobs...it sounds great, and it looks really sweet...

Really, where did you see it? I haven't seen a BB in town as of yet.

Belongs to a guy named Kevin...He used to work at the 'Boarshead' when it was open.... he plays around here locally once in a while...He's had it for at least six months, cause that's the first and only BB I had ever seen at that time...I ran into him last weekend, and he's just recently put the vintage gold pg and tr cover on ...I struck up a conversation with him,and he said he bought it from someone who originally got it through Mike Parks...otherwise,he usually plays this beat to death mid 70's jazz bass...

I don't know him, but I used to play at the Boarshead quite a bit until the it closed, good ol' Fritz is still at Belle Isle these days. As far as I knew there were only two people gigging with a Ric in town, Anna from 13 Stars and me, oh well I guess that I'll have to keep an eye out for it.
