Sympathetic vibration on D string

Happy Holidays! I have a 2009 4003 that has developed a rather nasty sympathetic vibration of the D string when I fret the F# (second fret E string) I changed strings, adjusted the truss rods, tightened all screws, re intonated, basically everything short of replacing the nut. Any ideas? Thank you.

Best advice I can give is have a friend play it unplugged and move your ear around til you find it. Did you really check every single piece of hardware? The hex nuts holding the knobs onto the pot posts? It could be the rods in their channels too.

Thanks for the reply, yes I basically field stripped it. LOL. The D string vibrates every time I hit the F# not an internal buzz but the actual D string.

How close to the D string to the first fret? Is the nut slot cut too low, perhaps?

Excellent suggestion, Thank You! Unfortunately its not touching the first fret at all.

It doesn't have to be touching it when at rest, just close enough that sympathetic vibrations may cause the oscillating string to then slightly "kiss" the fret.
This same kind of thing happened with a Jazz Bass I used to own, where a string just barely vibrated against a fret when I was play a particular double stop.
